Find flowers around town

The grass is getting greener, the trees are budding, and the flowers are starting to bloom! Take a spring walk along the river trails to see the waters flowing, and all around, you'll see the plants coming back to life after winter. Some hot spots to view spring flowers budding include Phoenix Park, the UW-Eau Claire campus, and River Prairie Park.

And before long, the local flower farms will be in full bloom as we ease into the summer months! Be sure to make your way back to experience the Pondview Lavender Farm and Jaquish Farms sunflower fields.

Weekend brunch date

Spring mornings were made for brunching. Ease into your Eau Claire day with some sweet, something savory, and a coffee (or mimosa) at brunch favorites like The Nucelus Cafe, The Informalist, Fella's Loaded Goat, Chick-A-Dee's, or Norske Nook in Osseo

As outdoor dining season makes its way back, find yourself soaking up the sun on a patio and letting the morning pass with no rush and no other plans–just good food, good views, and a dreamy start to the day. If your phone doesn't eat first, we'll totally understand why–the brunch plates are just that irresistible.

Go to a greenhouse

Consider this your sign to romanticize your spring by shopping through Eau Claire's greenhouses and garden centers. These shops have it all–flower pots, house plants, and landscaping elements that will give your homes an epic revival for the warmer months. Plus, who doesn't love the instant serotonin boost you get from wandering through endless rows of bright, vibrant florals and greenery?! Some of Eau Claire's top greenhouses include the Down to Earth Garden Center, May's Floral Garden, Curvue Tree Farm, and Raintree Garden Center

The experience is a 10/10, and the photos turn out even better.

First few farmers market weekends

Yes, the Eau Claire Farmers Market makes its long-awaited return on the first Saturday of May. Vendors are starting to file in with their fresh flowers, select produce, baked goods, meats, honey, and more.

Nothing says springtime like grabbing your market totes, getting an iced coffee to-go, and making your way over to Phoenix Park for the return of one of Eau Claire's favorite traditions. Bring on the farmers' market season!

Run at the Eau Claire Marathon weekend

The Eau Claire Marathon has been voted the best marathon in Wisconsin, thanks to its scenic river views, high-energy crowds, and unforgettable race-day experience. Given the community support, challenging course, and that it's a Boston-qualifying marathon, it's no wonder the spring runners keep coming back. Whether you’re running or cheering from the sidelines, this is spring energy in Eau Claire at its absolute peak.

If you can't snap a photo during the race, don't worry–the iconic "RUN EC" letters will be waiting for you at the finish line. Now that's a sweet addition to your spring photo dump!

A mural moment

While you're out again soaking up the spring weather, you're bound to come across a mural or two. Throughout Eau Claire, murals paint the city on the sides of buildings, along the trails, and tucked into unexpected corners. Thanks to the ColorBlock program, Eau Claire has no shortage of unique art pieces, bringing different stories and visuals to life across the city. Chasing rainbows

While we can't control the weather, let's face it–spring is a rainy season here in Wisconsin. But on the bright side, you're bound to see some stunning rainbows following the showers and thunderstorms! While there's no particular place to look out for rainbows, there are a few gorgeous places you can start and be assured of a stunning backdrop for your rainbow pics. Wandering downtown in Phoenix Park gets you wide open views of the sky meeting the trees along the river, while bridges and riverwalks nearby give you that perfect reflection shot if the water is still. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, find an open stretch along the Chippewa River State Trail where the sky feels just a little bigger.

Stick around after the rain clears. You might catch something worth stopping for!

This is going to look SO good!

We'd love to feature your photos!
