Sunflower Fields at Jaquish Farms
Get lost in a golden field just south of Eau Claire, and find yourself amongst a neverending country of sunflowers this summer. The fields are absolutely breathtaking, and the story behind the fields is even sweeter... Jaquish Farms Sunflower Maze was created after Babbette battled Multiple Myeloma for 9 strong years with her family by her side. After losing the fight in 2014, the family has decided to plant sunflowers every year to honor Babbette and those fighting similar battles. Some believe that sunflowers represent happiness, positivity, loyalty, longevity, & adoration, so the family's idea behind the sunflower field was to create a space for healing, hope, reset, reflection, & relaxation. Their mission is to raise money for organizations that engage in cancer research and support patients going through cancer treatment. The sunflowers bloom around August/September every year and can be seen driving along Highway 85 outside of Eau Claire. This year, Jaquish Farms is hosting a Sunflower Maze event from August 24, 25, 31, and September 1, 2024. From 11 AM - 6 PM, explore the farm with wagon rides through the flowers, see antique tractors, go sunflower picking, eat at food trucks, and more kid-friendly activities. Profits will go to Joshua's Camp to help support families with a child going through cancer treatments. Check out our blog to learn more about Jaquish Farms' sunflowers and to plan your trip to the golden fields this summer!
