Ferguson's Orchards
Gather up your family for a trip to Ferguson's Orchards this fall. There is so much to do here that half of your fall bucket list items will get crossed off. Once you get here, the kids won't know where to turn their heads. First, grab your baskets and head out to the aisles of apple trees to go apple picking together. Once you've got some goodies to take home with you, check out all of the attractions. Ferguson's has a giant pumpkin pad for jumping, a corn maze to get lost in, pedal tractors for kids to race on, friendly farm animals to visit, and so much more. While you can pick your own apples here, you can also learn how to create glass projects of your own and shop for items made by Eau Claire's local creatives! Their projects on the porch make for a fun and creative activity for the kiddos to do too! But before you leave with your new glass decor, make sure you grab a treat too. There's nothing like an apple cider donut after some good and hearty glass work!
Dixon's Autumn Harvest Winery & Orchard
For families that want more than just an apple orchard, Dixon's Autumn Harvest is the place to go. Fun fact: their orchard has been in the family since 1924. That being said, growing different kinds of apples each year brings the owners much joy. During the weekends, they offer free wagon rides and a free corn maze for the kiddos! For the parents, they have something even better: Wine. Autumn Harvest is both a winery and an apple orchard. A trip here will leave everyone with those fall feels and a smile on their face.
Maple Leaf Orchard
Try picturing your perfect fall Saturday. Why not make it come true at Maple Leaf Orchard? This orchard is far beyond just apples. They harvest and sell everything from apples, pears, plums, cherries, grapes, currants, pumpkins, and more. After picking their fresh and flavorful labor, they get the bakery up and running to pump out some delicious treats like apple crisps, pies, and donuts. Everyone that comes here does not walk out empty-handed. From Labor Day weekend until Halloween, they are open for fun times 7 days a week from 10 am-5 pm.
Connell's Family Orchard
With family in its name, you know that this orchard was created with kids in mind. Connell's Family Orchard is located in Chippewa Falls and loves to see families making memories on their grounds partly because the orchard is now owned by the 6th generation of Connells! They grow 30 varieties of different apples. If you like them sweet, tart, or tangy, they have it. The farm produces pumpkins, raspberries, blueberries, and plums too! So, while the peak of fall arrives in Eau Claire from September through October, get over here and take a wagon ride with the family to enjoy all the wonders of fall in the Chippewa Valley!
AVEnue Orchard
Head over to AVEnue Orchard to purchase some locally grown apples! It is not an average orchard. They grow a variety of other fresh produce on-site too and make jams and butters with the fruit of their labor. While you're here, pick up some jams, jellies, and cider for your home. The taste of fresh and locally grown foods is absolutely unbeatable.
Dixon's Apple Orchard
If you want to get your hands on some very rare apples, make a trip to Cadott to visit Dixon's Apple Orchard. Their world-famous champagne apples are what people flock for. The unique taste of these apples is one that you can't get anywhere else in the WORLD! Not only do apples blossom here, but love too. Dixon's Apple Orchard is also a very popular wedding venue in the Chippewa Valley due to its beautiful landscape. If you're coming here to do some apple picking with your boyfriend/girlfriend, maybe drop some hints too.
Mcilquham Orchard & Strawberries
Mcilquham Orchard & Strawberries is located in Osseo, WI, just a short drive south of Eau Claire. Their orchard is located in the middle of Wisconsin's rolling hills and not only offers delicious Honeycrisp apples but breathtaking country views as well. Apart from being open in the middle of September for apple season, they are also open in the middle of June for strawberry season! Whether it's strawberries or apples that you're going after, they'll let you pick your own or purchase them pre-picked.
Bushel & A Peck
You probably would like the apples you pick at orchards to be rich in flavor. You'll get that at Bushel & A Peck along with some rich history too. The orchard was planted nearly a century ago and now has over 20,000 apple trees that grow and produce 30 varieties of apples! You can find your way through their 3-acre corn maze or even catch a wagon ride on the weekends! Capture the best memories here with their photo cut-out boards too!
Family Roots Orchard
Apples and pears, oh my! That's what you can expect at Family Roots Orchard (formerly known as Niblett's Apple Shed). You can meander through their orchard to pick your own apples, take a few swings in a round of mini-golf, and find out who from your group can slingshot an apple the farthest.
