Halloween in Eau Claire
Start practicing your Monster Mash moves... Halloween is approaching and Eau Claire is ready to celebrate.
A bunch of kids all over the streets of Eau Claire during the prime of their sugar rushes? We accept that challenge, and promise that everyone involved will have a great time. Get treats from your favorite local businesses during the downtown trick-or-treating event, and then head to the local neighborhoods to go door-to-door. Hopefully the sugar rush wears off before bedtime.
Roaming around pumpkin patches, enjoying hay barrel rides and drinking loads of fresh apple cider. If there’s a better way to spend an autumn day, we sure can’t think of it. Luckily, autumn in Wisconsin is unbeatable and Eau Claire takes advantage of that. Head over to one of the many pumpkin patches, such as Valley Pasture Farm, Ferguson’s Apple Orchard or Glass Orchard, and find the best pumpkin around to carve and make your own.
This one is not for the faint of heart, but if you’re someone who just loves the adrenaline rush of walking through a haunted house, Eau Claire has plenty of people willing to scare you. One option is the interactive haunted house presented by the Ski Sprites Water Ski Team that impresses year after year. If you’re looking to head a couple miles out of the city, the Spooky Hollow Haunted Barn is for you. Just remember, there is no one around to hear your screams.
No matter where you go out in Eau Claire on Halloweekend, you’re sure to find a huge crowd all dressed in their best costumes. This is a night for the creative community in Eau Claire to shine, and all the costumes you’ll find around the city prove that. If you want the full experience, you better come dressed to impress in your own creative costume. Whether it’s something completely homemade or just something witty, people around the city are sure to get a kick out of it. Who knows? You may even win a costume contest or two.
Head downtown to The Plus, The Mousetrap, Stone’s Throw, The Firehouse or many, many others for a night of great conversation, live music and interesting venues. If you’re looking for a lively night out with the college students, Water Street is undoubtedly the place to be.
But, really, what’s Halloween without some good ole’ blood and gore? Good thing you’ll get plenty of that at the annual Eau Claire Zombie Crawl. Check out all of the downtown bars while dressed in your best zombie outfits. Don’t worry, there will be someone there to help you out with your make-up, but we already have the secret: lots and lots of fake blood.
