Halloween in Eau Claire

Start practicing your Monster Mash moves... Halloween is approaching and Eau Claire is ready to celebrate! Here's some spook-tacular things to do this year in Eau Claire.

Halloween Hop & Trick-or-treat

We all know by now that Halloween this year may look slightly different than from years past. But that doesn't mean it'll be any less spooky or fun! This year, head to downtown Eau Claire to get your Halloween Hop on! In place of candy, participating downtown businesses will be offering sweet steals and deals all day on October 31st. Keep your eyes and ears out for more information regarding trick-or-treating this year in Eau Claire as changes will be made due to COVID-19.

Pumpkin patches

Roaming around pumpkin patches, enjoying hay barrel rides and drinking loads of fresh apple cider... if there’s a better way to spend an autumn day, we can’t think of it. Luckily, autumn in Wisconsin is unbeatable and Eau Claire takes advantage of that. Head over to one of the many pumpkin patches, such as Valley Pasture Farm, Ferguson’s Apple Orchard or Leffel Roots and find the plumpest and best pumpkin around to carve and make your own!

Haunted Houses & Paths

This one is not for the faint of heart, but if you're someone who just loves the adrenaline rush of walking through a haunted house or corn maze in the pitch black of night, the Eau Claire area has plenty of ghouls and goblins who are ready to make you scream. One option is the Twisted Tails of Horror at Govin's Farm in the neighboring city of Menomonie, WI. We gave it a shot ourselves and all we have to say is... you may want to pack an extra pair of pants.

Twisted Tails of Horror takes place every Friday and Saturday night from 6pm-10pm throughout October. If you're looking for more haunts and thrills, check out Field of Screams Haunted Barn and Trail at Rockin' T-R Ranch from October 22-24 and October 29-30 from 7pm-10pm hosted by the Eau Claire Sport Warehouse. While it may be easy to keep your distance from the monsters, don't forget that this year it is a good idea to keep 6-feet distance from EVERYONE to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Other Halloween Fun

Try something new for Halloween this year! Head over to Action City at the Metropolis Resort and slip on some virtual reality goggles to try your hand at beating off some zombies! If you're someone who loves the art our city offers, stroll through downtown Eau Claire and browse at the Halloween window displays from some of your favorite local businesses. Even though some things may look and feel a little different this year, remind your kiddos that they can still dress up! Matter of fact, if you submit a photo of your kids or friends dressed up in their costumes on the Downtown Eau Claire Facebook page or to by November 1, 2020, you'll have a chance to win a variety of gift cards to several downtown businesses! Just think of it as trick-or-treating but instead of candy, you can get gift cards! For the ghost hunters out there, Eau Claire has some rumored paranormal properties that you can check out this Halloween too and get you ghost busting on.

Halloween is what you make it. Get out for some socially distant and spooky fun and let your creative side shine by dressing up in that costume you've had planned for the fam for months. Let's mask up, stay socially distanced, and "creep" it real!
