How it Works
The Local Store has everything you need to take on the trails of the Eau Claire area. With e-bike and e-scooter rentals, you can independently explore Eau Claires, tunnels, bridges, rivers, rail trails, and more attractions along the way. Here's how it works:
Reserve a Time
Book your e-bikes and e-scooters by visiting their website or calling The Local Store directly at (715) 552-7377. If you didn't have time to make a reservation, just stop in! The Local Store will take walk-ins depending on availability.
Pick up Bikes or Scooters
Once your equipment is booked, you can head to The Local Store to pick up our bikes, helmets, and accessories right on-site. Stop inside the store and check in at the sales counter, and the staff at The Local Store will get you hooked up. Suggested Routes
If you're new to Eau Claire, no worries! The Local Store has rounded up a list of popular routes and curated adventures for all types of bicyclists. While you're welcome to ride wherever you'd like in Eau Claire, Electric Bike Rental can point you toward popular rail trails, bridges, river tunnels, and more. There are 5 urban loops to choose from that range from 5-mile to 13.5-mile round trips. The City Centre River Route is a signature route leading you on accessible paved trails to highlights of the city like Phoenix Park, the High Bridge, and more. The Putnam Park Woods Route is a quick 5-mile trail through the historic Third Ward neighborhood along the Putnam Park nature preserve trail. The Ultimate Bridge Route is 13.5 miles long bringing you to Eau Claire's most iconic bridges and views. Other routes lead you to Chippewa Falls, the Chippewa River Trail on Highway 85, and more. Places to Stop Along the Way
Breweries
Conveniently, many of Eau Claire's tastiest breweries are located along the trail systems. While trekking along the Chippewa River State Trail, pull over for a quick brew at The Brewing Projekt or Lazy Monk in downtown Eau Claire. The Bloomer Brewing Company - Adante Taproom is located in downtown Eau Claire for an easy beer stop, or a longer ride to Leinie Lodge is worth it for the stunning views and refreshing flavors! Eau Claire screams for ice cream all summer long!
