Eau Claire Healthy Communities and Wintermission Team Up Again to Promote a St. Patrick's Day Themed Scavenger Hunt Throughout Eau Claire
Eau Claire, Wis. (March 1, 2021) - Visit Eau Claire, Wintermission and Eau Claire Healthy Communities have teamed up once again to promote a fun and safe winter activity for kids and families throughout the month of March. The organizations will be running their “Good As Gold” scavenger hunt throughout the city of Eau Claire from March 1-31, 2021 with clues to be published on the Wintermission Facebook page and Eauwinter.com on Monday, March 1, 2021.
“As the days begin to get longer, brighter, and hopefully warmer, we want to provide a fun opportunity for our community to safely celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, explore our parks and win some prizes all the while supporting local businesses,” said JoAnna Bernklau, Eau Claire Healthy Communities Chronic Disease Prevention Action Team Co-Chair. “That is why we have decided to partner with Wintermission once again to create the Good As Gold scavenger hunt.”
Participants will be tasked to find the 7 colors of the rainbow - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet - at iconic spots throughout Eau Claire. The 8th clue will lead to the ‘pot of gold.’ Participants must take photos and submit them on Eauwinter.com proving they have found all of the colors along with the ‘pot of gold’ to be entered in the drawing to win. The more colors a participant finds, the more entries they will receive into the prize drawing. All participants will be put into a drawing for a $50 gift card to either Metropolis Hotel & Resort and Action City Trampoline Park or a $50 gift card to Ramone’s Ice Cream Parlor.
Apart from the gift card incentives, Eau Claire Healthy Communities and Wintermission strive to inspire people to get out and get moving during the winter months for the overall benefit to people’s health. Going outside, getting exercise, and getting some Vitamin D are important for mental and physical health everyday but are especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic. That is the overall goal behind the partnership between Wintermission and Eau Claire Healthy Communities.
