Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts

The Mabel Tainter has brought cultural excellence to the Chippewa Valley since it was commissioned in 1889 by Andrew & Bertha Tainter to honor their daughter Mabel, who passed away in 1886 at the age of 19. The facility is listed on the National Register of Historic Theaters and is a Wisconsin Historic Marker destination.

The Mabel Tainter presents a diverse year-round season of music, theater, dance, and comedy in its Victorian-era “jewel box” theater; supports local and regional performing artists, offers visual arts exhibitions and the beloved annual Fine Arts & Crafts Fair. Tours are available throughout the year and by special appointment.

In addition to an exceptional entertainment season, The Mabel is an ideal location for Weddings, Business Meetings, and Bus Tours. Hotel room rates are the envy of the state. There are over a dozen restaurants within easy walking distance of the Theater. Conveniently located off I-94 just 30 minutes from Eau Claire, The Mabel Tainter is well worth a visit.
