Eau Claire, WI – Visit Eau Claire is honored to receive a marketing boost to promote tourism initiatives with the help of a $30,300 Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) grant from the WI Department of Tourism.  Tourism Development Specialist, Andrew Nussbaum, will be in Eau Claire to present the grant check at an award ceremony to be held at 6:20PM on Thursday, July 31 at the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series in Phoenix Park.

The JEM grant will assist Visit Eau Claire in carrying out their goals in promoting local culture and heritage.  The grant allowed our organization to develop a partnership with Discover Wisconsin to record the stories of our locals, highlighting what truly makes the Eau Claire area a unique visitor destination.  Discover Wisconsin says that they are the “…best way to promote your destination to highly qualified visitors…” with over 11.5 million homes represented on the television network alone.

JEM grant funds are available to non-profit organizations for the promotion of Wisconsin tourism events and destinations.  This Destination JEM is designed to impact our local economies by bringing visitors to our partner communities to spend additional money on dining, lodging, shopping and recreational activities.  Based upon previous marketing activities Visit Eau Claire estimates an additional 1% growth in overall economic impact, which totals over $3 million in visitor spending.

Visit Eau Claire effectively markets the Eau Claire area as a destination for conventions, group tour, sporting tournaments, and leisure markets; to promote regional economic growth; to enhance the area’s overall identity and image; to sell fun, promote fun, and most importantly – Have FUN!
