Tourism spending in Eau Claire County totaled $320 million in 2013, up 3.6 percent from $309 million the previous year, according to a new report from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism.

Of the total, $196 million was from direct traveler spending, which ranked 16th among the state's 72 counties.

Direct visitor spending rose 4.9 percent last year to $78 million in Chippewa County and increased 4.4 percent to $43 million in Dunn County.
