The City of Eau
Claire has been selected as a finalist for the 2014 All-America City Awards,
the United States’ most respected award for impressive civic and community
accomplishments. To secure this an
application was completed by a work group in the 2014 class of Leadership Eau
Claire through the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce.
The 2014 All-America City Awards will be held June 13-15 in Denver, Colorado. Ten Visit Eau Claire staff members and interns will join nine community leaders in Denver to compete and represent the City of Eau Claire. In addition, the Visit Eau Claire Fun Patrol will road trip to Denver and share Eau Claire’s story along the way. The Fun Patrol will make stops in Austin, MN, Council Bluffs, IA, Kearney, NE, and Boulder, CO to engage residents.
The road trip commences on June 13 at 5:30 am as the Fun Patrol departs Eau Claire from Breakfast in the Valley at the Expo Center. Media partners are encouraged to meet Visit Eau Claire at the Expo Center at 5:00 am for interview opportunities with community leaders regarding the All-America City Award.
Eau Claire has been named as a finalist based on its innovative and collaborative civic engagement projects. The theme for the 2014 award is “Healthy Communities”. Projects such as Phoenix Park, Clear Vision Eau Claire, and the astounding health care system in our area have paved the way for rebirth and growth towards quality of life improvements.
2014 is Eau Claire’s first time being named as a finalist for the award.
Visit Eau Claire effectively markets the Eau Claire area as a destination for conventions, group tour, sporting events, and leisure markets; to promote regional economic growth; to enhance the area’s overall identity and image; to sell fun, promote fun, and most importantly – Have FUN!
