What is the Eau Claire Area Sports Commission?

Recognizing the growing trend of sports tourism around the country, and the amazing sports facilities in the area, the Eau Claire Area Sports Commission has enabled the area to become a major player in the sports event marketplace. Since its inception in 2000, the Eau Claire Area Sports Commission has assisted with over 30 national and international events, contributing over $30 million in economic impact to our local economy.

What is the population of Eau Claire/what are the major nearby cities?

The population of Eau Claire is just under 67,000.  Eau Claire is a hop, skip and a jump away from Minneapolis/St. Paul by 90 miles, which has a population of over 2.8 million. The Eau Claire area consists of the following communities: Eau Claire, Altoona and the Town of Union. We are located in the rolling hills and river valleys of Western Wisconsin. The Eau Claire area offers natural beauty, outdoor recreation, a rich heritage, unique attractions and second to none sporting facilities!

Do you have an airport/what is your nearest major airport(s)?

The local airport is the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport.  The airport provides daily flights to and from Chicago O'Hare.  The Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport is only 90 minutes away and the Chippewa Valley Airport Service provides daily shuttles to and from MSP.

How many hotel rooms are in the city?

Eau Claire, including the nearby surrounding area, is home to over 2,000 hotel rooms.  The local hotels offer some of the most competitive prices in the state while maintaining their high level of service.

What additional attractions does Eau Claire offer?

Eau Claire offers several attractions for those of all ages.  With several quality golf courses, nature trails and wineries for those looking for fun in the sun; to family experiences at Action City or Eau Claire's downtown sculpture tour, our city definitely has something for you.  Also, you won't want to miss all of the live music opportunities Eau Claire has to offer.  Both outdoor musical festivals and indoor performances by local artists spot our calendar so music enthusiasts won't be short-changed in Eau Claire.

Several great events have recently chosen Eau Claire as their host city.  Events include: The Color Run, North American Fast Pitch Association Softball Tournament, North American Ski Jumping Championships, USA Judo, National Collegiate Table Tennis, United States Snow Shoe Association plus many more!
