Heartland Hospice Eau Claire is seeking volunteers to help support patients and their family members during a difficult time. Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support for terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice focuses on enhancing quality of life rather than length of life. Volunteers offer support, companionship and practical compassionate help. Some volunteers interact directly with client/patient and families while others prefer to work behind the scenes in an office setting. We invite you to be on our team. We not only need volunteers in Eau Claire but service patients in Barron, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Trempeleau Counties.
TYPE OF VOLUNTEER: Ages 18 and older
RECRUITING: Individuals, students, veterans and spouses.
SCHEDULE: Varies- Depends on client, daytime hours
HRS PER MONTH: 2-6 hours per month
TRAINING REQUIRED: Yes
TRAINING HRS: 10-12

As a volunteer, we will work with you to identify your areas of interest that is uniquely suited to you and provides you with the greatest satisfaction. Examples of Volunteer Services: Talking and Listening to Client, Running Errands, Respite for Family, Reading to Client, Playing Games, Going for Walks , Providing Friendly Visits to Lift Spirits, Helping with Office Support.
