Thinking Big is What We Do History Walk

The Wisconsin History Makers Tour will bring history directly to local communities in every region of the state through pop-up exhibits, object displays, public programs, outdoor installations, and other activities. 

Tall-tale postcards became popular at the start of the 20th century. Modified images like the ones featured in this outdoor display were created when photographers took two prints: one of a background landscape, and another close-up of an object that was cut out and superimposed onto the first. The results are playful pictures in which strawberries reach the size of boulders and fishermen grapple with whale-size catches.
