What happens after we flush?
Every day, the City of Eau Claire Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) treats 8 Million gallons of wastewater, and after removing nearly 99% of foreign matter, returns it to the Chippewa River sparkling clean. Additionally, 10 Million gallons of biosolids are created and applied to local farm fields each year, as well as 90 Million SCF of Methane that is used for heat and power within the facility.
The City of Eau Claire WWTP staff is proud of its goal to deliver as clean a product to the Chippewa River as possible, preserving all life in and around the habitat. Join them for a tour, where you will gain fascinating insight into the amazing treatment process and see the many state-of-the-art upgrades to the facility.
