We asked the Clearwater Kiwanis group to share with us their favorite things to do in Eau Claire.

They were not at a loss for words and came up with a great list. Here are their tried and true suggestions. 

  1. Buy fresh produce at the Downtown Eau Claire's Farmers Market. The Farmer’s market in Phoenix Park will be back for the summer starting the first weekend in May.
  2. Listen to local music at Tuesday Night Blues in Owen Park
  3. Enjoy the outdoors at the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series
  4. Bike/Hike and Walk the Trails. Some favorite trails include Lowes Creek Trail, Chippewa River State Trail or Old Abe Trail. 
  5. Eat brunch at Racy's and The Nucleus 
  6. Find a good book at L.E .Phillips Memorial Public Library
  7. Hang out at the Children’s Museum with the grandkids. Their 'Body Smarts' exhibit is a favorite. 
  8. Grab a scoop or two of Ramone’s Ice Cream. Did you know that all tips are donated to charity? 
  9. Eat on the awesome patio at Cowboy Jack’s. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better summer patio! 
  10. Eat at Tokyo Japanese Restaurant. They have the best fried rice. 
  11. Drink a Loaded Bloody Mary’s at Big T's Saloon on a Sunday. It comes with a Laffy Taffy. 
  12. Listen to Jazz at Lakely. Check out their calendar as they are always adding new Jazz events. There are usually a couple each week! 
  13. Eat a sushi roll at Ninja
  14. Grab Friday night fish fry at Court’n House. Or Thursday night burger night!
  15. Eat breakfast at Altoona Family Restaurant
  16. Catch a show at the State Theatre. Catch one before State Theatre closes! 
  17. Take a yoga class at the YMCA
  18. Sign up for a continuing education class at UWEC
  19. Explore the beautiful art on the Sculpture Tour. New sculptures are shared each Spring. 
  20. Learn something new at the Chippewa Valley Museum
  21. Eat popcorn and catch a show at Micon Cinemas
  22. Cool off and go swimming at Fairfax Pool
  23. Explore Paul Bunyan Logging Museum
  24. Eat at Stella Blues. Seafood dishes are their most popular things to try. 
  25. Socialize at an Eau Claire Express Baseball game
  26. Attend some top annual events and shows. Some favorites are Eaux Claires, Banbury Art Crawl, Chippewa Valley Symphony, Dance with the Thunderman, Book Festival, International Fair, Country Jam, Doll and Pet Parade, and Festival in the Pines
  27. Take your furry friends to the dog park
  28. Walk or run the bridges downtown. Phoenix Park Bridge lights up at night! 
  29. Watch the Pablo Center at the Confluence grow
  30. Have dinner with a friend at Mona Lisa’s. They change their menu often so you can try a new seasonal favorite.
