It's aimed at helping people visiting the area and those who live here find hotels, restaurants, shopping, and other community attractions. Visit Eau Claire says the new website has attracted more web traffic, and kept internet users on the page longer in its first month and again in July than at those times last year. Linda John with Visit Eau Claire said the cost to re-design the website will be paid over a three-year period.
"It's a big investment," she said. "We do have a revenue generation program, so part of this is supported by advertising. So, it's not all our Visit Eau Claire dollars. There's private sector dollars that are helping to support that. In fact, about a third of it is coming from the private businesses through their participation."
