On Monday, Livability.com released its second annual Top 100 Best Places to Live list representing more than 30 states.

"It's still small but big enough to have the plays and the shopping and the things that I'm looking for in that regard," Eau Claire resident Sue Bast said, noting Eau Claire has always been "home."

Eau Claire ranked 59th in the study, which evaluated more than 2,000 cities, according to a Livability news release. Cities with populations between 20,000 and 350,000 were ranked according to eight categories: economics, housing, amenities, infrastructure, demographics, social and civic capital, education and health care.
