Eau Claire, Wis. – The Ohio Valley Regional Babe Ruth Tournament is being held in Eau Claire July 22-26, 2015. This tournament, featuring the top 10 teams in the 15-year-old age category in the Ohio Valley Region (Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, and West Virginia), is slated to be held at the Babe Ruth Fields at Mt. Simon Park. The tournament rotates between all the participating states and was bid on and secured by Eau Claire Babe Ruth in partnership with the Eau Claire Sports Commission.

Wednesday features the opening ceremony at 5 p.m., followed by a family picnic at the lower Mt. Simon pavilions at 6 p.m. Tournament passes will be available at the picnic and are $25 for an adult and $10 for children ages 6-15. Single-day passes are $8 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-15; children under the age of six are admitted free.

The first game will start Thursday morning at 8 a.m., between Northwoods (Wisconsin) and Downers Grove (Northern Illinois). Games run throughout the day Thursday and Friday starting at 8 a.m., with the final game scheduled for 8 p.m. Teams will be seeded after Thursday and Friday’s pool play and single-elimination bracket play begins Saturday morning.

The host, Eau Claire Babe Ruth, is scheduled to play Thursday against South Gibson (Southern Indiana) and Henderson Co. (Western Kentucky) at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively. Friday’s game for Eau Claire Babe Ruth is against Beckley (West Virginia) at 8 p.m. A full concession stand will be available throughout the tournament featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, walking tacos, popcorn, beverages and more!

The event has an estimated economic impact of $213,300 for the Eau Claire Area.
