EAU CLAIRE - Lots of Blugold power - from eight UW-Eau Claire alumni and four current students - helped fuel efforts that resulted in the city of Eau Claire being named an All-America City by the National Civic League on June 14.

Nineteen city officials and members of Leadership Eau Claire and Visit Eau Claire represented the city at a recent awards presentation in Denver, Colorado. Eau Claire was one of 10 U.S. cities to receive the All-America City designation.

The National Civic League selected winners based on their demonstrated innovation, inclusiveness, civic engagement and cross-sector collaboration.

After Eau Claire placed among the top 25 applicants for the title All-America City this spring, representatives of the finalist cities were invited to Denver to make presentations to a group of judges. Eau Claire's presentation focused on the city's efforts to clean up Phoenix Park, Clear Vision Eau Claire's attempts to boost civic engagement and the city's focus on promoting public health.
