The Chippewa Valley Railroad (CVRR) offers rides in/on wooden 1880 passenger-style coaches pulled by coal-fired, steam locomotives. Chippewa Valley Railroad Association offers train rides on their mini train replica during the summer months through scenic woods by Half Moon Lake. Experience a 1/4 size working railroad featuring coal-fired steam locomotives, a diesel locomotive, and wooden 1880-style passenger coaches, streamline passenger coaches, a gondola car and one caboose. Depot, passenger waiting canopy, roundhouse, turntable, switch yard and the oldest interlocking tower in the state. With an upgraded track, the Chippewa Valley Railroad offers a genuine railroad experience. Two of the railroad's three engines run on coal, and the 1880s-style cars and vintage train station are home to suspender-clad conductors wearing pin-striped engineer's hats.
