This month a friend and I decided to do something a little bit different then what we normally do… we decided to go do dinner and the theatre.
We went to Houligan’s for dinner, a steak and seafood pub located in downtown Eau Claire.. They have a really great, diverse menu and the service is great. Between the two of us I had the pistachio encrusted chicken and Jackie had the Shrimp Scampi, both served with rice and fresh vegetables. Of course we had to have a glass of wine or two as well, and they have an excellent wine list!
After dinner we went to the check out a theatre production of Guys and Dolls put on by a local community theater, the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre. The show was held at the State Theatre also downtown and it was great show! The cast of local volunteer actors did an amazing job… It is so nice to have such great live theatre in our own backyard!
When the show was finished we decided to stay with the downtown theme and went to for a few drinks. We started with a pitcher of beer at The Mousetrap and ended at Clancy’s… two local bars located on Barstow Street in Eau Claire. It was a great night… downtown Eau Claire has a lot to offer!
