Biking and Brunch at The Creamery

A Sunday morning… much too nice to be inside.  We decided it would be the perfect day to take a bike ride on the Red Cedar trail.  After a few calls we met up with some friends at the trail head in Menomonie.  We were quite surprised to see that we seemed to have the trail to ourselves that morning.  We biked the eight miles to Downsville in less than an hour.  We exited the trail in Downsville and headed to the Creamery with Bloody Mary's and brunch on our minds.  The Creamery has a great Sunday morning brunch menu with much variety.  You can choose anything from Cherry Sourdough French Toast to Duck Confit to a fried egg sandwich.  The also have a selection of salads, fruit and more.

After our relaxing (and filling) brunch and Bloody Marys we stopped at Dunn County Pottery, which is right down the road. I found more than a few pieces that I liked and made a note to myself - next time bring back pack!  We thought about stopping for a malt at the General Store.  Word has it they are very good, but we just weren't up for it after our brunch.

Our ride back was at a pretty leisurely pace, just enjoying the day.  There was quite a bit more traffic on the trail at that time; bikers, runners and walkers.  Also saw a few canoes and people tubing on the river (still haven't managed to do that yet this summer)... hopefully this nice weather will continue well into the next couple of months.
