Getting outside has always been a part of our family routine.

Snowshoeing

December and winter has arrived.  Just 3 weeks ago we took a Sunday morning hike at Lowe's Creek Park in 50 degree temperatures.  It was a beautiful day and winter seemed a long way off.  Lowe's Creek Park has great hiking/biking trails and it's a great way to spend a few hours outside enjoying the weather.  Our dogs had a chance to take one last swim of the season in the creek so they were muddy and happy when we got back to the parking lot.

Now, snow.  I broke out the snowshoes for a short walk after the first snow and can't wait to get out on the trails.  I find that winter goes much faster and is much more enjoyable when you can find something that you like to do outside.  Sliding, ice skating, x country skiing, snowshoeing or just walking, E.C. has much to offer for winter fun.  Try it!

The music and arts scene in the Eau Claire Area is alive and well, and from live local theater to mainstream national acts, I can’t get enough of it! I enjoy all aspects of the cultural arts from performing to watching, and hope to bring it alive for you in the Visit Eau Claire Music and Arts blog.

I live in the hills south of Eau Claire with my wife, Ruth, my son, Taylor and our two cats, Marie and Louise. We are all active in road and mountain biking, skiing and snow shoeing. Taylor and I race our bikes in the WiSport and WORS races throughout the spring, summer and fall.
