On a recent Thursday evening we decided to take in the Volume One concert at Phoenix Park. It was such a beautiful summer evening we decided to take a get in a short bike ride before the concert. We drove to the Hobbs Ice Arena and got on the trail there. Heading east along the river we noticed many people tubing on the Chippewa River (must do that yet this summer). We biked through Owen Park and followed the trail to Phoenix Park. It was a short but very enjoyable ride. There was a big crowd for local author and musician Mike Perry and the Longbeds and The Daredevil Christopher Wright. Both acts were great (as was the ice cream). We enjoyed the sunset on our way back along the trail. Of note; you can get on the bike trail anywhere in E.C. and it will take you to the park. The next time you are going to the Farmer's Market or to a concert or event in the park, consider parking somewhere else and either bike or walk in on the trails. Enjoy the treasures we have here. Also, winter will be here all too soon.
