Hi… Jane here.
Well, Tim and I managed to find time for romance this week. It seems like we haven’t seen much of each other lately with me running here and him heading there. So, we set everything aside for a day and spent some wonderful time away right here in Eau Claire at the Fanny Hill Victorian Inn. With 11 Victorian-themed rooms, Fanny Hill is one of the premiere bed & breakfasts in the Chippewa Valley and the peacefulness of the surroundings let you forget all your cares and enjoy the moment with each other.
We checked in and were also able to get in for dinner in their intimate dining room. We sampled the Rib Eye steak and a wonderful pasta dish with shrimp. Both were absolutely delicious! We followed up our meal by spending the rest of the evening right on the property, at the Fanny Hill Theatre and saw a very funny show – Don’t Hug Me, County Fair. The cast was small but talented and they had the audience laughing all evening. It was a very nice way to spend the evening and everyone seemed to be enjoying it.
We stayed that night in the Lady Alexandra room, one of the more popular rooms according to the manager. I can see why, because it really was lovely and the very comfy king-sized bed, whirlpool and fireplace contributed to a truly romantic getaway for the two of us. The Fanny Hill staff goes the extra step and puts out baskets of cookies and treats in the evening and coffee and tea are right outside your room for the early risers before you take advantage of the full, cooked hot breakfast that completes the bed & breakfast experience.
I can’t say enough about the wonderful staff who took care of any needs we had and they really made us feel like we were the only two people staying there. How much more romantic can you ask for? We’ll definitely be back and we sincerely recommend that anyone visiting the Eau Claire area include a “night on the Hill” in their plans.
That’s it until we discover the next thing on our quest to find the romantic side of Eau Claire.
Jane and Tim.
