Well, March IS romantic. First there’s my birthday. What’s not to love about that! Then we decided to make memories by attending a couple of events at the State Theatre in Eau Claire. It’s a beautifully restored old theatre and just sitting and being surrounded by the art deco atmosphere takes you back to a day when life was simpler. And since it was the place where Jane and I had our first date, it’s always a bit romantic when we walk through the doors.
This month is special for two reasons. First, a few years ago, we had the good fortune to travel through Ireland in March and spent some great times listening to Irish music in the pubs. So when we heard that Gaelic Storm was going to be stopping in Eau Claire the day before St. Patrick’s Day, we had to see them. Their story-telling style of music and the wonderful accents weren’t necessarily romantic for the rest of the audience, but it sure was for us as we relived the amazing times we shared on our trip.
And we’re looking forward to the end of the month when we plan on seeing Jim Brickman perform at the State with John Trones. That WILL be romantic for the whole audience as Jim and John are internationally known for their lush piano melodies and crooning vocals. We’ve been listening to Jim Brickman music for many years and the chance to see him, right here in Eau Claire is something that we just can’t pass up.
With concerts, plays, musicals, comedians and more, there’s always something going on at the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center. Whether you live in the area or just stop by for a visit, we really encourage you to check out what’s happening at the State. Who knows, this could be the seeds of your romantic memories!

Enjoy yourselves! We hope to see you there.
