Chippewa River Trail ride

A nice loop to bike in the morning is from Phoenix Park across the river along the Water St. trail, behind the businesses (I highly recommend a latte at Racy's!  and if your bike needs adjusting, stop in at Bike & Sport which is right next door) and head out to Menomonie St...if you follow the trail to the railroad bridge...the trail comes to a diamond ...if you loop to the right you go over the railroad bridge and head out onto the Chippewa River Trail, head straight and you are on your way to Dairy Queen and Carson Park...hang a left and you are on the "new" Clairemont trail.  We rode it right back to Altoona and went on road at 10th St, past the Kwik Trip at 10th and Spooner and then were on the trail again.  We headed out to River Prairie Dr and looped back along Galloway to Phoenix Park.  A small onroad section that is dicey, along Galloway, but otherwise the ride took about 90 minutes and was very enjoyable.  It is about 16 miles more or less, and we didn't break any speed records!

The music and arts scene in the Eau Claire Area is alive and well, and from live local theater to mainstream national acts, I can’t get enough of it! I enjoy all aspects of the cultural arts from performing to watching, and hope to bring it alive for you in the Visit Eau Claire Music and Arts blog.

I live in the hills south of Eau Claire with my wife, Ruth, my son, Taylor and our two cats, Marie and Louise. We are all active in road and mountain biking, skiing and snow shoeing. Taylor and I race our bikes in the WiSport and WORS races throughout the spring, summer and fall.
