This summer we have been trying to get out biking, hiking and in my case, running as much as possible. Summer already seems to be going by too fast, so we need to get out and enjoy it while we can.
One day last week, I decided to take a run through Carson Park. I enjoy running along the bike trails and through the park, watching the people and dogs along the way. Running through Carson Park opened my eyes to what a great place it is! There were lunchtime walkers, runners and people biking the loop through the park. There were quite a few people fishing along the shores and there were several kayaks, canoes and boats out on the lake. There was the usual action on the playground and by the sound it appeared that everyone was having a good time. The tennis courts were in use and it looked like the Chippewa Valley Museum and the Paul Bunyan Logging Camp were geting their share of visitors too.
From the nature trails and the lake, to the ball fields and museum, there really is something there for everyone. It's a great place to spend a few hours or a full day into the evening, taking in a ball game.
Each time I visit one of our city parks I am impressed again and realize how lucky we are in Eau Claire to have so many great parks.
