Have you ever wanted to try to get to know yourself better? Or just be able to be with yourself?
Many times when people hear the word “meditation” it scares them. Some believe it’s only for the disciplined and enlightened. This is not true for meditation or any form of mindfulness, awareness, watchfulness, witnessing – the intent of meditation is to just be.
This can be confusing since many of us are busy with work, school, taking care of family, maintaining a household, activities for you and or your children, going through illness, taking care of an aging parent, and the list goes on. You may ask, ‘how can I just be?’
In this workshop, designed for you, we will discuss what meditation is and the type of meditation we will be using. This workshop will operate in a way that is open, honest and free of agendas. It will embrace the values of equity and diversity.
After our meditation, we will have a 30 minute yoga practice which will be a relaxing flow followed by a discussion session.
Buddha was asked, “What have you gained from meditation?” He replied, ‘Nothing. However, let me tell you what I have lost: anger, anxiety, depression, insecurity, fear of old age and death.’
