It’s almost time for the second annual Eaux Claires!
While we’re all super pumped for this weekend, there are a lot of other big things going on in EC this week. Check out all of the cool happenings we’ve got going on in Eau Claire this Thursday night!
Red’s Back Alley Pop.Up
From August 11th through the 13th, Red’s Mercantile is hosting a pop-up flea market for you to pick up some goodies before you head to the Eaux Claires Music Festival! Vendors include Pastue Company, Low Roads, Merfolk Floral and Gifts, Linyage, and Landon Sheely. The market will be located in the back alley of Red’s Mercantile at 224 N Dewey Street. This Thursday, the shops will be open from 11am-7pm. Stop by to browse through all of the shops, drink some free lemonade, and apply gold temporary tattoos and lots of hair chalk!
High 5 Yoga
Take a breather after work by practicing some yoga with the High 5 Yoga Crew! As always, there will be a FREE yoga class in Phoenix Park from 5pm-6pm—right before Sounds Like Summer! Everybody and every BODY is more than welcome and encouraged to join! (Note that there will also be a class this Saturday from 9am-10am.) Is it your first time going? You have nothing to worry about. Just look for the giant crowd surrounding the dog statue. ☺
Sounds Like Summer
Stop by Phoenix Park to catch performances by J.E. Sunde, Doks Robotiks, and Jerrika Mighelle! J.E. Sunde—a founding member of the local band The Daredevil Christopher Wright—is a solo artist who is putting on a special full-band version of his show this week. Doks Robotiks is a collaboration between numerous musicians mixing hip-hop music with hints of jazz and funk, whereas Jerrika Mighelle (who you may recognize from the band QuinnElizabeth) is a folk singer-songwriter whose emotions shine through her songs. Music goes from 6:30-8:30pm, and there are plenty of food stands and trucks for you to grab dinner while you’re at it!
Phil Cook at The Lismore
This sold-out event is a special show at The Lismore (333 Gibson Street) to kick off the 2016 Eaux Claires Music Festival! Yes, you read that correctly: It’s sold out. (I’m sobbing because I completely blanked on buying a ticket.) Phil Cook will be performing with collaborators of this year’s festival from 7:30pm-11:30pm. If you’re one of the lucky souls who scored a ticket for this event… sell it to me, please?
Clearwater Comedy Presents: Emma Arnold
Every Thursday night, Clearwater Comedy puts on a comedy show at The Plus in downtown Eau Claire. However, this week’s comedy show is extra special because it features a performance by comedian Emma Arnold! The show will run from 9pm-11pm, and doors open at 8pm. There’s a $5 cover charge, but let’s be real—that’s a pretty good deal for a comedy show! PLUS (see what I did there?!), The Plus serves half off apps and taps from 10pm-midnight. Go to this show, laugh your bum off, and be overly generous when tipping your servers and bartenders.
Vandaam, Two Castles, and Sniffle Party @ The Mousetrap
To top it all off, Vandaam, Two Castles, and Sniffle Party are ALL performing at The Mousetrap this Thursday night! Mica Grimm and Franz Diego are hosting this FREE show from 9:45pm-2am. Stop by to jam out to Vandaam (electronic artists Lady Midnight, Adept, and Eaux Claires performer sloslylove), Two Castles (experimental artist Eric Christenson), and Sniffle Party (an electro-pop collaboration between Serena Wagner and Eric Christenson). Beers, excellent music, and rad people. Groovy.
BUT WAIT—THERE’S MORE! Other events this Thursday night include a book signing with local author Alexi Venice at The Coffee Grounds, an Eau Claire Express game, trivia at Bug Eyed Betty’s, and performances at the House of Rock.
So what are your plans for this Thursday night?
